Eagle's Landing Football

     Coach Teknipp is entering his first season as the Head Football Coach at Eagle’s Landing High School and his seventeenth year in coaching.  Coach Teknipp graduated high school from Lake Catholic High School in Mentor, Ohio where he was Captain of the Football Team.  Coach Teknipp then walked on at West Virginia University and then at Kent State University where he earned a scholarship and three varsity letters.  His junior and senior years at Kent, he was the starting nose guard, and in 1989 he was names Sporting News First Team All-Conference.  At Kent State University, he received a Bachelor of Science in General Studies.

     In 1992, Coach Teknipp started coaching at Gilmour Academy.  In 1994 he was elevated to Defensive Coordinator and Head Wrestling Coach.  In 1995 he helped guide The Lancers to their First State Playoff experience.  The 2000-2002 seasons, Coach Teknipp helped Guide Villa Angela-St. Joseph Vikings, to three State playoff appearances.  In 2003 and 2004, he helped guide Mayfield High School to a 13-7 record.

     In 2005 Coach Teknipp began coaching at Henry County High School.  In 2006 he was named Head Track Coach and Assistant Head Football Coach at HCHS.  In 2007, Coach Teknipp helped guide the Warhawk football team to their first Region Championship and first playoff win.  He coached the offensive line which only gave up 4 sacks in 12 games.  The HCHS Boys and Girls Track teams finished 25 at the State meet in 2007.

     Coach Teknipp and his family moved to McDonough Georgia in July of 2005.  That year, he enrolled in the TAPP program and began teaching Special Education Science, and Coaching at Henry County High School.  In February 2006 and November 2006, he was selected HCHS Teacher of the Month.  In May 2007 he completed the TAPP program, and was selected HCHS Teacher of the Year.

     Coach Teknipp is married to Jennifer, who is the Head Cheerleading Coach at ELHS  They have been married for 16 years.  They have two children, Tyler, 14 (who is a freshman at ELHS), and Caitlin, 11.  Coach Teknipp is extremely excited about becoming a part of the Eagle’s Landing Family.
